Top 2 Tuesday... Random Things About You

I found this blog, The Undomestic Momma and decided to participate in this top 2 Tuesday thing in hopes of getting myself to blog more. So here we go...

2 random things about me...
1) I can grab my uvula (the little speed-bag at the back of your mouth) without gagging. I can also bend my tongue back to lick it.
2) Even though I fell off the vegetarian bandwagon (very, very hard I might add) 2 years ago, I still fall-back and order vegetarian options when I'm out to eat at restaurants. I do it mostly because a) it's delicious and b) it's what I'm familiar with because it's what I was ordering for 5 years and I sometimes don't like to go out on a limb in a place of familiarity. I hate thinking about my food and where it comes from when I'm eating meat. I've thought about being a vegetarian again, then I get a delicious whiff of bacon. If it does happen, it will be when I start living on my own.

Short post.

Jude can sit up from lying down now, and sometimes go from sitting to his belly without face planting (not always, poor guy).
The weather has been cold again, it makes me sad.
I was going to post more (I think), but pizza's here! Until next time.

I'm marching for babies!

This year, I've decided to go on a walking/running kick to get into shape, and I figured, why not walk for a cause?
This is the first walk I'll be participating in this year, and I'm excited. It is April 25th, and is 6 miles long!

Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. I'm walking in March for Babies because I want to do something about this. And I need your help.

Please support my walk. Making a secure donation is easy: just click the 'donate now' button on this page. Thank you for helping me give all babies a healthy start!

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

7 months!

Jude is 7 months now. It's hard to believe it's been that long since he's been born. I think it's actually just now fully sinking in what it all means - a lifetime of smiles, tears, and probably tons of mischief. He's a little trouble maker sometimes.
Quick stats:
- Still mostly breastfed.
- He's working on perfecting his sippy cup skillz.
- He loveloveloves smooshed veggies & fruits. This kid is going to be a foody, he hasn't spit out a single food I've fed him.
- He's getting ready to crawl. He can sort of get on his hands and knees, and he just kind of rocks when he does.
- He wiggles around the floor. Backwards and in circles. He usually scooches backwards until he gets stuck under something.
- He added "m" to his babbling so he sits there and goes "mamamam." I'm not sure he quite grasps the meaning and concept of it yet though.
- He has more than doubled his birth weight, he's almost 17 pounds!
- He's still a shorty, but he's always going to be a shorty.
- Everything still goes in his mouth.
- He still doesn't sleep through the night.
- He has started the ever exciting "I'm going to drop this" phase.
- He has also started the stranger and separation anxiety phases. He gets all shy and snuggly when we're around other people that he doesn't see on at least a weekly basis. He also cries when I leave the room.

Yesterday I took him to the zoo for the first time! We went and visited one of my best friends, Kelsey in Bowling Green and the 3 of us and our friend Adrian went to the Toledo zoo for a few hours. He had fun, strollering along and fell asleep eventually. A lot of the animals were out, lazing about. One of the hippo's was walking outside to his water hole and the giraffes were inside but the baby was licking the window right in front of us. It was a lot of fun, and of course really awesome to be able to spend time with my friends, even if Jude did cry most of the hour and a half drive home.
